The Pikler Approach to Caregiving-The Infant and Toddler Years
Saturday October 28, 2017 9am-3pm
Instructor: Jane Swain
We will explore caregiving through photos and experiential activities followed by discussion in order to tease out the essential aspects of caregiving which are capable of great healing. We will study how caregiving was perfected to a high degree at the Pikler Institute in Budapest, Hungary, and consider how we can adopt aspects of these principles into our own settings. We will cover how caregiving changes as the child
grows older, and how caregiving can be approached in the classroom at various ages.
This workshop is appropriate for those working with infants, toddlers, and the NK age child.
