The hand puppet offers pedagogical and therapeutic opportunity for interactive play with the young child.  Through creative ensoulment of the puppet, social emotional support can unfold in the exploration of what it means to be human. The hand puppet can be a teacher’s friend, helpful in the Nursery and Kindergarten during transition times in the rhythm of the day, as well as helping the child to process life situations, feelings, and emotions. It is a joyful way for parents and educators to build creative capacities within themselves as well! In these 2 workshops, participants will receive a materials kit and learn to make a simple hand puppet, creating a character for use in the classroom or at home. Basic skills of manipulation and techniques for bringing the puppet to life will be demonstrated and practiced.

Participants must register by February 12th for puppet crafting materials to be mailed in time for the course.

Home supplies needed for puppet completion: A basic hand sewing kit (needles, pins, thread, scissors, embroidery floss, etc.). A computer that has Zoom reception.

Course cost includes $95 for course and $65 materials and shipping expenses.

At this time we are only able to ship materials within the United States.
